چکیده
Abstract Dyslipidemia in patients with hypothyroidism results from effects of thyroid hormones on lipid metabolism. Hypothyroidism is characterized by a state attenuated basal plasma insulin, high insulin resistance and hypothyroidism-induced hemodynamic alterations. All which are risk factors for the development metabolic cardiovascular diseases. In this study, we determined prevalence syndrome among adult Filipinos compared clinical laboratory characteristics those versus without syndrome. We also validated body mass index as surrogate marker waist circumference diagnosis conducted prospective study 120 Filipino adults hypothyroidism. Anthropometric blood pressure measurements were performed followed extraction fasting glucose, profile, stimulating hormone, free thyroxine levels, triiodothyronine levels anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody levels.
